Piece by Piece explores questions through a series of photographs and texts depicting the shared stories and lives of four residents who have dementia in a memory care center. Building relationships with the residents allowed for transparency and to trust one another.
Memory is how we know who we are as a person. The capacity to define one’s self is a powerful ability that we are all given. The aging population is increasing. Piece by Piece serves to bring more awareness to society’s blind spots regarding memory loss of loved ones and the important work that’s done every day in memory care facilities around the world.
