About the Book
Verses' third issue ''Looking Glass'' takes an introspective look at what it means to rebel from the norm, asking: "How does your identity differ from a conventional one? What causes this?" This issue features over 30 incredible worldwide submissions, including 60+ artworks, plus 26 gorgeous written pieces. On top of that, there’s an advice column from Sonia Feldman and a choose-your-own-playlist with 44 songs. Includes cover art by Haein Kim and inside pieces by Rachel Frichette, Tegan Iversen, Quyen Nguyen, Lyn Patterson, and many more. We’ve also got 3 exclusive interviews with band Pyjama Sundayz, poet Imogen Donato, and filmmaker Lina Christopherson-Jeong—creatives who all push the boundaries of their field. To finish it off, there’s a mini pull-out 12 page zine inside and every order comes with a matching sticker!

Each issue takes a single word or phrase and explores it with a curious sensibility. Past projects include Ghost, Piece of Cake, Looking Glass, Nightlight, and Garden. Ultimately, Verses hopes to showcase experimental work from people of diverse backgrounds, promoting the power of art and words in tangible form. Submissions are open to people of all ages, locations, and experiences—we strive to foster a place for emerging and experienced artists where creative exploration is celebrated.
