About the Book
HEART is the answer to the ever-growing challenge of reinforcing values in youth that positively shape their actions and behaviors. HEART is a social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum geared towards improving the way adolescents between the ages of 10 and 15 treat others and themselves. As a result of using the HEART workbook, students will learn to be more empathetic, responsible and emotionally resilient.
The HEART Workbook covers the following subjects in 64 pages of evidence-based activities, games, writing prompts and lessons:
HUMANITY: Recognizing that we all have strengths, weaknesses, successes and failures
EMPATHY: Understanding others feelings and being able to put yourself in their shoes
ADVOCACY: Establishing your support network and supporting others
RESPONSIBILITY: Making good decisions, accepting consequences, and taking personal responsibility
TOUGHNESS: Gaining emotional strength to overcome adversities and conflict
