    About the Book

    Edit

Indigenous people in Mexico have experienced a long history of repression. In response to this is a unique history of organizing and resistance influenced by the Liberation Theology of the Catholic Church in the 70’s and the traditions within the Indigenous cultures.

In July 2007 photographer Gwendolyn Meyer and historian Marc Becker, traveled to Mexico with Marin Interfaith Task Force (MITF) and Rights Action to observe the situation in Oaxaca and Chiapas. From this trip is a report back on the Social Justice movements in Oaxaca.

Proceeds from the sale of this book benefit Oaxaca Solidarity Network.

Gwendolyn Meyer is a photographer and graphic designer .
She is the author of 2 documentary photobooks: Crawford Texas, and Oyster Farming in West Marin, both available at http://www.lulu.com
