About the Book
A black and white set of photographs taken in New York in 1999. I was there for just a week but was able to build a collection of images that, I my mind, show how I was affected by being there. I used film based panoramic cameras and walked the streets to find the people and the place, with an architectural aspect.

About the Creator
Allan Chawner
Newcastle/NSW/Australia
Allan has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally in France, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, China & New Zealand. Allan researches the possibilities for photography to explore identity both nationally and internationally and constructs journey like montages that may stretch to sixty meters in length. He has worked on collaborative projects with the Song Company, a national touring organization, and the Melbourne Recital Centre providing images that accompany musical performances. Dr Allan Chawner is a Conjoint Professor in Photomedia/Fine Art at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
