About the Creator
Some years ago, I left kitchen and factory work behind and headed for community based learning sites where I taught adults to read, write, speak English, and enter college. With a B.S. in Adult Literacy and Master's degree focused on multicultural education, I then had an opportunity to write curricula for and teach Adult Basic Education at an urban two year college .... By the time I retired, I had developed programs, written and taught courses in Educational Foundations, and coordinated an urban pre-teaching program at the college. With 6 grandchildren, I am now even more committed to developing a pedagogy that frees and then guides our young to be the just, creative, and thoughtful human beings. Other published writings include poetry chapbooks, children's books, essays, interviews, and several academic articles on rural service learning.
