About the Book
SGORBATI STEFANO, born and lives in Merano.
Self-taught, 60 years of painting, photographer for more than 40 years.
I attended a course on art graphics with Rina Riva and participated in a group show in Bolzano at the Cappuccini garden with drypoint and graphic works.
I belong to that generation that inevitably went from analogue to digital, allowing me to have experiences in all these fields.
My artistic training also includes a period as a professional in the field of music as a percussionist and having actively participated in playing in various musical genres and having recorded several LPs and CDs Jazz and Fusion, pop.
My latest collaboration with the "thecomfortzone" group led me in the direction of research in the musical field of avant-garde and electronic music with several concerts / performances and the release of several self-produced CD / r.
Now in my small atelier / studio I have the opportunity to experiment with techniques and materials using different mediums.
My art has distant roots, I combine the strength of my graphic sign of instinct with the rationality of rigid and precise lines and textures that reinforce the work.
My vision for my art is precisely to interpret the world we live in, so the symbolic reference to analogue and digital becomes my central theme that is present in all my artistic works. The use of resins then completes this path which is still in the testing phase, an obligatory step towards new projects.
Graphics and design have always intrigued me, I often apply my knowledge directing them in this direction, working in symbiosis with my sign.
I find that life as such is "analogical" but everything else dictated by a symbolic time becomes the "digital" part and therefore the 2 things cannot be split between them.
