About the Book
The National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics was the precursor to NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Founded in 1915, it was amalgamated into NASA in 1958. These are the covers of formerly classified reports the committee prepared on matters of national importance and research. As with many official documents, they have an undesigned functional aesthetic
that accidentally manages to be beautiful.
The Misc. books are “an occasional series featuring unseen design experiments, photographic essays, personal sketches, strange clippings, resampled illustrations, random doodlings, themed ephemera, visual musings, unrealised projects, curated detritus . . .”
