About the Creator
Dr Melissa Baker (1970-) was born in Sydney Australia. After a very difficult start in life, her experiences influenced the way that she motivated herself towards challenges, self-confidence, and sheer determination to make a difference. Even though she was forced to leave school at 15 years of age and was homeless for a period of time, that did not stop her ability to apply herself in various careers including, graphic arts; aid & development; lecturing in adult theological education; school, police and navy chaplaincy; and research. Melissa's motivational speaking and writing started at an early age, as she wanted to encourage and support others. Her first speaking engagement was in the Southern Highlands of Papua New Guinea at age 18. Her first book was published in 2003. Melissa has travelled extensively around the world to 51 different countries and have spoken at many events to inspire, encourage and motivate others in their lives.
