About the Ebook
In celebration of the semicentennial of Baker Shakespeare at Rice University, this "yearbook" documenting the first half century of BakerShake productions has been produced in consultation with all living past directors and with the help of contributions from more than a hundred cast, crew and audience members of yore. Still cheaper than the average Orgo textbook, this 426 page, full-color hardcover volume is priced at just ten bucks over cost, with all proceeds benefiting the new Baker Shakespeare Endowment (or download a PDF version for immediate viewing for just $20.20). About the Creator
In 1970, Baker College at Rice University established Houston's oldest Shakespeare festival. For its 2020 semicentennial, a yearbook celebrating the first half century of this Baker Shakespeare tradition has been created in consultation with all living former directors and with contributions from more than a hundred former cast and crew members. Materials gathered for the project will help complete the historical record of past "BakerShake" productions maintained in the Woodson Research Center at Rice's Fondren Library, and all proceeds from the sale of the semicentennial yearbook benefit the new Baker Shakespeare Endowment. "The play's the thing."
