About the Creator
Robin Brooks-Hill is a psychiatrist practicing in Revelstoke British Columbia. He moved there in 2006 with his wife, Virginia Thompson, to be closer to their three sons and grandchildren. Robin was educated in Oakville and Toronto. After attending medical school at the University of Toronto and completing his training in psychiatry in 1977, he was on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto holding the rank of assistant professor for almost thirty years before relocating to Revelstoke. Having lived in Toronto most of his adult life, Robin had become very interested in Toronto history, particularly the social and economic aspects of life in the nineteenth and early twentieth century. Robin developed an interest in genealogy after his mother’s death in 1994. Since then, he has been a member of the Toronto Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society.
