About the Book
If you ask Americans what the three biggest news were in 2020, they might agree that they were Covid-19, Presidential Election, and Black Lives Matter movements. Though I spent the whole year in the US in 2020, none of those topics made appearances in the pictures I took daily in my surroundings. I didn’t consciously avoid them - Rather when I am left to my own devices, I tend to photograph things or moments which have no obvious references to social changes around them. Even on the Judgement Day when all lives are annihilated, I am afraid that I am still photographing inessential moments such as the late afternoon sunlight hitting the side of the shabby building or a vending machine reflected in a puddle of water.
