Alison Black started writing poetry in 2006, infused with a desire to express her life and her identity, to come to terms with the many challenges she has faced and to share the joy she finds in her life as a woman.

She is an inspiration for positive living, and her poetry reflects that. It is simply said, but expresses myriad, and sometimes terrible, complexities.
