About the Book
This true story, written in the imagined voice of an articulate child, shows how accusations of "parental alienation" were contrived to remove children from an excellent mother and their life-long home.
New Jersey psychiatrist Richard Gardner created "Parental Alienation Syndrome" around 1985. He advised that sex between adults and children is natural and lobbied against mandatory reporting of child sex abuse. He advanced his ideas through self-publishing and courtroom testimony in hundreds of child custody cases until his suicide in 2003.
Alleging "parental alienation" has produced a river of revenue for private contractors--lawyers and clinicians--who ignore evidence of abuse and advise judges to "reunify" children--often with the wrong parent.
In 2006, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges strongly urged judges to strike allegations of "parental alienation" from custody evaluations, for it fails to meet evidentiary standards.
