About the Book
Now, fifty or more years after these youthful experiences, 34 former members of Ken Nirim have reflected on those years and on the impact the "movement" had on their lives and their Jewish identity. They have created a collective memoir -- a piece of social history -- describing an alternative secular Jewish experience in ‘50s, '60s and '70s Los Angeles in this newly published book, Ken Nirim: Reflections and Stories.

About the Creator
Raised in Los Angeles, Treisman left to go live in Berkeley with her first husband where he went to graduate school and she worked in the administration. After they divorced she obtained a real estate license and tried, with much enthusiasm but no great success to sell homes in and around Berkeley. Then, some years later, married again with plans to go to live in her husband’s hometown, she got a certificate in technical writing and worked for a while writing IT user manuals before moving to Barcelona. She now lives in Figueres, near the French border, where she takes walks with her dog, takes photographs of birds, and when the mood strikes, writes a blog. Contact information: dvoratreis05@gmail.com
