Lisa, a thirteen-year-old girl, has trouble getting her busy schedule under control. By chance she discovers a mysterious box with a small book in it.
The booklet contains enigmatic verses in Old German script. When Lisa, with Grandma's help, manages to decipher one of the entries, suddenly strange and highly exciting things happen!
Lisa finds herself in a strange world, where a wicked sorceress steals the inhabitants' life. Together with the brave boy Tom, the dog Tati and Tom's siblings Pauline, Fred and Anna, Lisa takes on the almost hopeless fight against the sorceress.
