About the Creator
Anne-Margaret Childress teaches African American Theater in the African American Studies Department at Syracuse University where she completed her master’s degree in Pan African Studies. Anne-Margaret was nominated for a Syracuse Area Live Theater Award for Best Director (Community Theater) for Syracuse Shakespeare In-The-Park’s 2019 production of The Tempest. Ms. Childress has directed productions of Troilus and Cressida and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as co-directing Hamlet for Syracuse Shakespeare In-The-Park (SSITP). Ms. Childress also directs for the Paul Robeson Performing Arts Company (PRPAC). PRPAC sponsored the first production of her monologue play, Issues of Color in 2023. She serves on the Production Board for Syracuse Shakespeare In-The-Park.
