About the Book
WILLIAM A. BOLTON - A PHOTOGRAPHIC PORTFOLIO is a project that started as a means of compiling several years of work into one concise, immediately accessibly form. The project has required a tough process of editing and re-editing, but I hope the resulting images convey a broad overview of the styles and subject matter that drive me into the countryside in an attempt to capture the infinite beauty of the natural world as I see it.

Photography has been part of my life for about eight years, when I was first introduced to a 35mm SLR, a Nikon FM2, while studying a BSc in Biological Imaging at the University of Derby. Since then my equipment has evolved, though I still use Nikon and shoot both film and digital. My first photographic successes were of plants and I guess I was hooked. Plant portraits are something I still work on with both macro, wide-angle and telephoto lenses. I am a hobby photographer and as such I am able to maintain a focus on the styles I enjoy and those that inspire me. My day jobs are an endless source of inspiration and motivation.
