About the Book
THE HUTCHINSON STORY is not only about farms great or small, or houses in the suburbs, or any of these things. It is not written to try to explain this or that circumstance.
Our family history is just that: our family history. It is always our family history, whether it happens in Idaho, Mexico, or Rainier, or on the farm at Brush Prairie, or Dobler Hill Ranch, in the South Pacific, Sacramento, California, or on Northwest Skyline Boulevard in Portland, Oregon. It is our history whereever the sons and daughters, the grandchildren, or the great-grandchildren of Marion Henry and Narcissus Marie Hutchinson are.
All we want to do is to tell our story as well as we can. We are doing this because we want to leave a monument which says, "Our parents and we walked this land and we left this book as a monument telling the story of our journey."

[“The book about my family was written because I wanted my family, my brothers and sisters and their kids, to be able to leave a footprint, be able to say, ‘We were here, we did these things and we lived these things,’” he explained. He wants the history to be available to future generations of the family and to others. “I come from an incredible family,” he said.] -- Newberg Graphic

About the Creator
Born in 1932 in Kelso, WA. A farm boy, one of 13 siblings, I became a Christian at about 10 years of age. With a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies, I became a Pastor in 1958 in Eureka, MT. Then in Glendale, OR, at the Assembly of God Church, then at North Howell Community Church, at Nyssa United Methodist Church, and at Brooks Hill Free Methodist Church. Received a Bachelor's in Education in 1968, taught at St. Paul Elementary and McLaren in Woodburn, OR, and as a substitute teacher. Served as a Nursing Home Administrator for five years. I reside with my wife Lois in Newberg, OR. We have four children and seven grandchildren between the two of us. I have always been a storyteller. Students in schools where I was a substitute teacher would ask me to tell them a story. I had many stories of things I had done, people I had known, places I had gone, or stories I had been told when I was a child. My first two books are: 1. Incident In The Oregon Desert 2. The Hutchinson Story
