A project by Tell Us Another One at Cartwheel Arts, and the children of Woodland Community Primary
This book is the result of a series of workshops at Woodland Community Primary School, Heywood, in 2011. The children in the workshops made their own puppets from scrap materials, and then made up stories and plays about them.
The workshops were part of Tell Us Another One, a creative writing project led by Cartwheel Arts. The idea for the sessions came from a set of activity cards we produced with the help of the local Community Champions, which give 30 ideas for things that families can do in the area for free. "Puppet making" and "Making up a story or play" were among the activities we wrote about on the cards, so we decided to offer some workshops so children could give it a try. The results speak for themselves!
