About the Book
FINALLY IN PRINT!
Flickr's wonderful and outrageous grande dame, Miss Magnolia Thunderpussy, is finally in print. Devoted admirers Deak Wooten and Robert Vink have captured her very best critiques on life, morals and all things vintage, so that Miss Magnolia's fans can enjoy her for years to come. This 206-page treasure includes hundreds of beautifully reproduced vintage photographs, is fully indexed and pulls together, for the first time anywhere, Miss Magnolia's personal life story.
So ... who is Magnolia Thunderpussy?
While many have tried, arriving at a clear, straight-forward, unambiguous answer to this question has to date proven fruitless. She is very much an enigma, revealing a little here, a little there, always on her own terms, but keeping a whole picture of herself carefully hidden. Only her closest companions, Dymphna, her devoted maid servant, and her Dick, a hot-blooded chauffeur, might shed light on this woman of mystery. But alas, their loyalty is beyond question, not to mention, highly envied by the Royal Family.
So we are left with the bits and snippets that Miss Magnolia has chosen to reveal about her storied past, which, we suspect, is more than even she realizes. For one can piece together much from the comments she has made in reaction to vintage photographs posted on Flickr, both her own and others. Another source of information about Miss Magnolia's life comes from Flickr acquaintances who just happened to cross paths with her in times past.
So, in this book Deak and Robert attempt to piece together an answer to our opening question. Actually this will be many answers, both in her own words and through the comments and memories of others. They will seem disjointed, lacking a smooth narrative. But with someone as protective of her public persona as she is, we have little choice but to allow the reader to find their own way to the real Magnolia Thunderpussy.
