About the Book
Melanie Heinrich is a Fine Arts Photographer. This series of her work displays several of the images she made in the early 90's. Her process started with large format black and white negatives and graduated to painting both on the negatives and on the final prints. The prints were all made using the RA 4 process in a traditional color darkroom using odd color filtration settings in the color enlarger. Bright, contrasty, fully saturated colors were the results. These one of a kind images have served as a stepping stone to her more recent work of painted images. Her work can be seen at mhstudios.com
