About the Creator
Sheilah Beckett has been an illustrator for over 77 years. Her career started after high school in Portland, Oregon then onto California doing advertising for a number of specialty stores. She then moved to New York where she was the first woman to be accepted into the prestigious Charles E. Cooper studio, there she did advertising and editorial work, but wanted to do illustrations for children's books so she set out on her own and has continued to work at that to the present day now doing much of her work on the computer. Along the way she has also done sculpture for a number of clients, as well as numerous murals for childeren's hospitals and churches. Her son Ian is a fine artist and her son Sean is a photographer. Sheilah lives in Westchester,NY
