About the Book
I’ve always enjoyed hiking and camping so it’s not a surprise that when I took up photography my camera eventually focused on nature. Nature is still a favorite subject, but retirement now allows me more time to explore photography and expand my vision. Sometimes I’m intrigued with colors or reflections. At other times form, light, and shadow are a dominant interest. Occasionally, symmetry plays a role. And, after years of trying to make sure that people were not in my pictures, I’m finally letting them sneak into my field of view. If nature is also present, it usually serves only as a backdrop.
The theme of this exhibit is rather broad because I’m still exploring a wide range of subjects. A topic of narrower scope like shadows or reflections has not yet begun to dominate the group. The common thread is that these images all represent my attempts to see something new.
