About the Book
October's Adventure: Eileen and I hiked about 120 miles of the ninth-century medieval pilgrimage Camino de Santiago Compostela, or St. James Way, in northern Spain. We started in St. Jean-Pied-de Port, France and continued through the Pyrenees to Logrono, Spain. Eileen was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, 2010. It was discovered in the very beginning stages and successfully treated. It was suggested by one of the many amazing people that helped us through this period that we do a pilgrimage/retreat to help come to terms with the ordeal. Now seemed like the perfect time so we started our trek on October 5, 2011.
