About the Creator
I have always been fascinated with photography from a very early age, especially scenic pictures, landscapes. In my twenties, the 1970's, two things happened: first, when Ansel Adams was hardly known, I became aware of his work, loved it and purchased 5 prints from him; second, I visited the Kingdom of Nepal and trekked in the Himalayas. At that time I was making conventional 35mm color photos, but I thought this would be perfect material for Adams to capture with his grand style of landscape photography(not realizing what it meant to be 80 years old). Maybe every person has a secret desire that they keep in a psychic hope chest, this photographing in the Himalayas in the grand lanscape style was mine. When I was 49 years old I went back to the Himalayas and started photographing in the Everest region with the 8x10" view camera. After 250 days in the mountains this book is the first record of that effort.
