About the Book
HI
I have always had a passion for cars....my first memories were of how deftly my dad "double clutched" the gears from 3rd to 2nd as we rode up the hills in Jamaica in a 1960's Land Rover, limited in horsepower but with plenty of low end torque, these noisy vehicles were the mainstay of travel where we lived.
We always had stick shift cars and the family cars were Rovers, with the Rover 50 through to the Rover 95, a heavy "beast of a car that would go straight through anything. "Ponding" was not a problem fort this car. It even had a reserve switch so that if your gas level got low, you would have an extra 2 gallons of gas.
Mom, bless her, was big in spirit but short in stature so whenever passers by would see the Rover pass, they would often wonder if the car was driving itself.
This book is a dedication to my dad, who taught me how to drive but more than that, to respect others not only on the road but in life.
These pictures are a culmination of two years, 2005-2007, at the New York Auto show. Thank you and drive safe.
