About the Creator
Malia Movement Company started nearly 30 years ago as a vehicle to heal Women through movement. As years have passed the dance company has stayed true to their grassroots of social justice and activism. It has morphed into many forms but never ventured far from the community by involving resident DJs, local poets, vendors, fellow choreographers. Once the dance company turned 20yrs, Malia decided to take a break from choreography to focus on writing and created 2 more books, a self published children's book entitled "Mixed Heritage" with the help of 3 close friends and a compilation of Bay Area interviews, also found here on blurb. She currently resides on the island of Oahu, with aspirations of opening a theater space.
