About the Book
DONALD JACKSON (B.1972) is a contemporary American artist living and working in Chicago, IL. His education began at Berklee Scool of Music in Boston and continued at the Massachusettes College of Art. After receing his BFA from the The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1995), Jackson began to delve into the relationship of the cognitive mind and the visual reference.
Working both in abstractionism and realism, Jackson focuses on the psychological relationship between the viewer and the image. "There is no separation in between the abstract and the realistic," says Jackson, "there is only a difference in perspective."
Donald Jackson's work is included in numerous private and public collections throughout the United States. His recent publications include the 2010 issue of Studio Visit Magazine and Short Stories Illustrated by Artists, Front Forty Press (2007).
Donald Jackson's studio serves as "The Classroom for Color Wheel Studio," a fine art program for children located in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago. Jackson opened " Color Wheel Studio " in response to the apparent lack of quality education in public school art programs. Jackson's goal is to inspire young minds to create through the unique teachings of his own fine arts background.
