About the Book
A month after our nation's 9/11 tragedy, I was one of the thousands that found myself unemployed. It is common knowledge in the advertising industry that when companies cut back, the advertising budget is the first to be downsized and with it, the creative talent. It was a tough market to face when I knew I was one of many applying for the same job listing. The reoccurring question that came to mind was, “How do I stand out in a sea of people?”
I decided to treat my talents as a service while selling under the “Monaliza” brand. Essentially, I became the product and the advertising agencies were the consumers. I’m not claiming this is the best method in getting the interview or the career of your dreams, but its a start and that is something I think everyone could use a little help with whether you’ve just graduated or find yourself in a downsized industry.
