About the Creator
Roderick Macmillan
Suffolk, UK
Rod Macmillan is a committed photographer and traveller. He was brought up on a diet of National Geographic magazines and, at the age of 13, applied unsuccessfully for a job as a staff photographer with the US-based organisation. Despite this setback he continued to dream of meeting people in faraway places. At seventeen he ventured into Africa alone, and was enthralled by the sights and sounds of unfamiliar cultures. He resolved, quite consciously, to explore the planet. He has now photographed people in places in every corner of the globe. His work has been published in numerous magazines and books, and he has several exhibitions to his credit. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Photographic Society and the Royal Geographical Society.
