    Proud to Serve: Portraits of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Veterans is full color photography book featuring 65 portraits and stories of LGBT Veterans who served their country in silence or were discharged under the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law.

    On August 25, 2010, Jo Ann began a twenty-eight day road trip around the United States, driving 10,167 miles, 31 states from New York to California and back to photograph and record the stories of 46 of the 65 the LGBT Veterans featured in this project.

    Included in the book are a selection of iPhone images of America taken during Jo Ann's twenty-eight day road trip.
