About the Book
Abstract photographs of the north Moroccan city of Chefchaouen where Jewish settlers painted the majority of the city blue. These photographs present the city as a liminal space where occupants are tantalisingly portrayed as they come and go anonymously within their blue environment. Mostly intimate with some sweeping images, the book also suggests a claustrophobia and intensity of life found behind the tourists who visit in their thousands. Words from Paul Bowles support the images.
