About the Book
This book captures the struggle of the Hispanic community in San Diego for a comprehensive immigration reform and how for the first time several community groups united to express their anger toward a bill that would criminalize honest hard working immigrants and would have separated families, Their voices were heard and thousands of immigrants for the first time in recent history came out of the shadows.

Ricardo Vela is a contemporary multimedia artist who is also an Emmy-winning news anchor, television producer, and journalist. Vela began taking photographs when he was just 8 years old, and has continued to follow that passion ever since. He has a gifted eye for composition, and his journalistic background serves him well, in the context that many of his photos, drawings and paintings have a distinctly allegorical sense to them.
