This is a book about the survival of trauma. A series of charismatic and courageous individuals allowed me to photograph and interview them, in an effort to understand how they dealt with their trauma.



Within this book I have stories from Millvina Dean who was the last survivor of the Titanic (this is possibly her last photograph and interview before her death in May 2009), Mark Billingham, the author, comedian and actor, who was held hostage in a hotel room, Mark Dacey who was in the first carriage of the Paddington rail crash and threw up over Tony Blair’s shoes! Tom Watson who was attacked by a bear, Emma Lacey who survived the Asian Tsunami and eleven other contributors.



The foreword is written by Kate Cairns; a Cambridge Academic, published author and lecturer in Trauma Theory.
