About the Book
Six centimeters by six centimeters is the size of a medium format film negative produced by the Hasselblad camera system. Before the dawn of digital photography Hasselblad was the Ferrari of photography, a luxury tool meant only for the hands of the best pro photographers. Now these analogue workhorses can be purchased at substantially less than the astronomical prices they commanded in the past. I purchased a 1970’s Hasselblad 500 C/M in the year 2016, my first medium format film camera. Ever since then that camera has been my travel companion all over the great state of California. It has been with me to both some of the darkest and most remote parts of America’s west coast as well of some of it’s most crowded events. This particular camera to me represents freedom and evokes the spirit of exploration.
