Bruce Forrester has been a full time professional photographer for over 40 years. His career began in the San Francisco Bay Area and now is divided between Maui and the Bay Area. In the 1970s Bruce photographed the Sausalito houseboat scene as it celebrated an alternative lifestyle and then fought efforts to develop their neighborhood. Simon & Schuster published a book of his photographs with text by Phil and Sue Frank in 1979 entitled "Subee Lives on a Houseboat". More recently Bruce self published "Celebration & War: The Sausalito Houseboat Community in the 1970s". During the 1980's and 90s Bruce's assignment was to photograph San Francisco's high society and the many celebrities residing in as well as passing through the Bay Area. His book "Celebrity Photos of the 1980s & 90s" is a collection of his favorite celebrity portraits. He has worked for a number of Bay Area and national publications and internationally his work has been published in 30 countries.
