About the Book
In June of 2009 a team of doctors, nurses, and a pharmacist traveled to Peru to do volunteer medical service in Cajamarca. During the first week of the trip the team worked with the nuns of the Centro Medico Padre Luis Tezza, plus some local nurses and translators, to treat dozens of patients bussed in from the surrounding mountain villages.
During the second portion of the trip the group flew south to Cuzco to tour the sights in that area, including Saqsayhuamán, the Maras Salt Mines, and of course Machu Picchu.
I was engaged as the official photographer for the trip to document the work these medical professionals did in the clinic and the fun they had experiencing the powerful combination of volunteerism and vacation.
Here are over 300 photographic highlights from the trip.
