About the Book
A fully-illustrated colour publication on the mixed media works of Ginette Legaré, it mainly focuses on wall-based sculptures and installations completed by the artist during the 2011 to 2017 period. It also includes an introductory essay by Ian Carr-Harris, in English and French (translation by Lise Beaupré).
Born in Québec City and based in Toronto, Legaré is professor of visual arts at OCAD University. Her artistic practice explores mundane tasks and discarded objects as layered icons by delving into the more obscure economies at play in so-called day-to-day reality. She is represented by Birch Contemporary.
