I went to Japan in October 2017, loaded up with my expensive Fuji camera and lenses, anticipating taking photographs as I visited several cities over the next three weeks. Soon I found the camera to be a burden, when the spur of the moment glimpses of city streets, objects and life I desired to capture came in to view, I felt restrained.

Regretting having previously offloaded a little compact, I resorted to my phone - a humble Motorola G5, and a couple of dedicated apps for black and white photography - Hypocam and Lenka. This book is the result.
