About the Book
On the 13th of May 2018, the Nomadic Knights team and 27 motorcyclists from all around the world gathered together in great excitement and trepidation as we prepared to ride to Mount Everest Base Camp in Tibet.
We rode the manic, hot and dusty streets of Kathmandu, broken roads and almost non-existent rutted mud trails, snaking blacktop forest ascents and descents and the wide-open, barren, high altitude highway of the Tibetan Plateau.
We were hot, cold and sometimes, very cold. We set off early mornings and rode mercilessly into the dark. We ran short of fuel, endured the occasional puncture and lost and found riders along the way. This ride had more than most I would say, it had it all.
The best part of it was the great camaraderie everyone shared and the never-say-die attitude. These rides are all about the people and what a brilliant bunch you all are. Nothing can come close to the moment when Mount Everest suddenly appears before you in all her majesty, it’s spellbinding.
