About the Book
The Mission Church San Xavier del Bac is the best of the old Spanish missions remaining in the United States. It is located on the Tono O'odham Native American reservation, 10 miles south of downtown Tucson, Arizona. The Mission was founded by the Jesuit Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. The present building was constructed by Franciscans between 1783 and 1797. It is an active church serving the Tono O' odham people. It has been called the most photogenic building in the United States. This book contains numerous color photographs of the Mission, both inside and out, indicative of the author/photographer's lifelong love affair with San Xavier. It also contains a brief history of the Mission.

I began photography with a Brownie and used my mother's laundry room as a makeshift darkroom. I moved to 35mm, medium format and 4x5 before moving on to digital. Most of my professional work has been in medical photography, primarily for textbooks. My personal work is primarily travel and landscape. I am an old cowboy, retired pediatrician and public health officer.
