About the Book

The word Mandala often used to describe any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe. The paintings in this book are dedicated to the guitar and influenced by the great painters of Modern art from the 20th century.

Bob Giles is an artist from California who has an extensive background in both the visual arts and music. As a painter and photographer he has exhibited in the San Francisco Bay area for over 40 years. He specializes in photographs of the Victorian Garden Cemeteries, classic portraits, and costumed dancers from many cultures. As a musician Bob Giles has performed music with the guitar and flute in the San Francisco Bay area for 20 years with diverse groups in Jazz, Folk, and Classical styles. His CD, Inside the Marble Zoo, features original music with some of the best musicians in the Bay Area.
