About the Book
Last year I quit my job with a great future as a snowboard coach of 4 years to pursue snowboarding again. Having to be on the hill 40 hours a week teaching kids about something you’re passionate about and not being able to have time to go do it yourself will drive you crazy. I realized I had to quit and keep snowboarding free for the rest of my life or I would die an early death because of the stress it was causing me. Meditation and yoga weren’t working, snowboarding is still the only thing to calm my mind. I am a snowboard addict and its a disease I’m going to have to deal with for the rest of my life.
Ive been lucky enough to have travelled the world snowboarding over the last 30 years, starting in Colorado going on road trips with my family driving across county from Minnesota. Theres not a place in the world left that I really want to go snowboard that I haven’t been to already. Ive travelled so much that the adventure of going somewhere new has worn off for the most part. Well there are a few places id like to go, but I’m not stressing it. Its not hard to find new terrain, do something new on your snowboard or make new friends in place you’ve been before. All the new places people go snowboarding these days just seem painful, they are going to new places just to say they went snowboarding there not because the snowboarding is good. I did the pain game for a few years and I guess I’m just into the pursuit of finding the best snow these days. So I decided that on my first year dirt bag snowboarding again id take a road trip to all my favorite places in North America during the month of February.
