About the Book
Honduras is a poor country. It’s everywhere--in the slums, inner-city streets, at the beach, and in the mountains. Extreme poverty cannot be escaped in this country, but it’s not for a lack of effort and ambition from the people at it’s lowest levels. In this pensive photo-project, Berry captures the weariless work ethic within dreadful conditions that is so commonplace for Hondurans, yet so foreign to outsiders, and unexamined by affluent locals. By combing color and black-and-white photography, in both a journalistic and aesthetically pleasing visual voice, Berry's images depict the grossly underprivileged communities of Honduras and the people living in them.
