The desert southwest is my home. I work primarily in transparent watercolor, and also do mixed media and digital painting. I prefer painting on site for my landscape paintings, but also work from sketches and photos I've taken if plein air painting isn't possible. I also paint still life, my Fabricscape and Appropriation Series, and continue working on my Southwest Series which I began in the mid 1980's. My work can be seen in Tucson at the Southern Arizona Watercolor Gallery, and at my home studio, or by visiting my website: FountainStudio.com I am a juried signature member of the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, Arizona Aqueous, Rocky Mountain National Watermedia, the Arizona Watercolor Association and the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild. I earned a BFA (studio art) and MA (art education) from the University of Arizona in Tucson, and have also taken watercolor workshops from prominent practitioners of watercolor.
