About the Creator
I am an experimental artist working with materials such as fiber and mixed media, using various techniques: free motion machine embroidery, 3D printing, and more, resulting in installation, viewer interactive art, and sculptures. I have also been an art educator for 49 years. I hold MFA and BFA in Fiber and BEd Art degrees, exhibit internationally, am featured in many publications, have work in public and private collections, and write for mags and on-line. I published my first children’s book, Animal Alphabet Traveling Twisters in 2015. I have been working with Fosshape for 10 years, and find it to be one of the most exciting materials available; it has a host of applications as yet undiscovered! Since I couldn't find any instruction on ways to use it in art, I set out to experiment and push the boundaries. The owner of the company Wonderflexworld® the manufacturer of Fosshape, calls me the Queen of Fosshape! Check out works I have made from this exciting material at www.monaleisa.com
