About the Book
This year’s amazing images speak most eloquently to the timelessness and the challenges of the contemporary rural American South. Now in our 17th year, we are treated to a crop of 76 photographs selected by our esteemed 2019 jurors, Alyssa Coppelman and Gordon Stettinius. The 52 photographers have ably achieved the mission of SlowExposures: To slow down, to consider the character and the challenges to this region, and to be a part of the dialogue, the discovery, and the future of the rural South—through the art of photography. We thank the artists for sharing their work with us.
