About
I am an artist working in print and paint originally from the Channel Island of Jersey and now living in the UK. The shoreline has always been a strong influence on my work. The pull of the wide-open space to the horizon, of what lies ahead – the mystery of it excites the imagination. Capturing the effects of light and the influences of the seasons reflecting over the ocean are endless sources of inspiration.
My pockets are always filled with treasures picked up from the shore, things that have travelled and been shaped by the tide. The colours, textures and forms of shells, driftwood, pebbles, flotsam and jetsam regularly find their way back to the studio to be studied and recorded. Picking up particular pieces can transform me back to the time and place where they were found and act like a physical form of notebook or sketch.
