About
After over 30 years of practicing law and trying cases, photography found me in 2012. I wander with my camera. I am an observer. Surprisingly, in my wanderings, I found a similarity in the photographer making images and the lawyer presenting facts to a jury.
In the images I make, I bring my lawyer's training in documenting and presenting facts, the facts that I observe in my wanderings. I present those facts to the viewer, who sits as the jury evaluating the reality I am presenting.
Overall, my wanderings are best summarized by a famous quote from William Eggleston, who said, "Often, people ask me what I'm photographing, which is a hard question to answer. And the best what I've come up with is I just say: life today."
Life today....that is what drives my work.
